Capybara, Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris, in a marsh in the Southern Pantanal region, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.. The scar on the Capybara's rear leg was probably caused by a predator such as a Jaguar or Yacare Caiman. In the foreground is a Black-necked Stilt, Himantopus mexicanus, and in the background a Wattled Jacana, Jacana jacana.
